Located on a lake inlet, our client bought this existing, stucco, 1990’s contemporary house to enjoy a peaceful setting away from their daily occupations as a paralegal and computer systems specialist. The desire to add a 2-car garage and a family area in which to use their wood pellet stove was met with the need for improved home office space. Our client maintains a home office as well as commuting to New York City and Atlanta.

The garage is built where an original parking pad was placed. The office loft is above, and is connected by a flared staircase from a new sitting area and extension of the existing kitchen back toward the original house. The kitchen was reoriented and completely remodeled with new cabinets and appliances. The addition also features authentic Portland cement stucco, exposed masonry chimney with custom Venetian plaster, Pella windows, and architectural lighting.
